QUOTE of the DAY
"In order to keep a true perspective of one's importance, everyone should have a dog that will worship him and a cat that will ignore him."
-- Dereke Bruce, Taipei, Taiwan

› services: routine exams

As most know, one year in the life of a dog or a cat translates to several (as many as seven) human years. We strongly believe that even if you perceive your pet to be healthy with no physical or emotional problems, we should perform a full physical exam at least once yearly. Often there are new findings as far as pet health is concerned and information is always rapidly changing.

During our physical exams, your pet is examined by a qualified veterinarian. This entails a full examination from head to toe!  We will listen to your pet's heart and lungs and feel their abdomen and physically assess the kidney, the intestine and so on.

Included in this exam is a discussion of your concerns, nutrition, and any supplements that your pet may be taking. After the exam, we may recommend some changes in diet or supplements. We strongly believe that vaccination should not be part of the yearly check-up. We will discuss any new information on the vaccination issue which is the subject of much debate these days. Often, a simple blood test called a titer test, is recommended to assess your pet's prior reaction to vaccination and assumed protection against the common infectious diseases we see in our region. This test measures the antibody level in the blood.

Fees and Schedule Information
PLEASE READ THIS TEXT CAREFULLY

It is natural to want to know what your companion's treatment is going to cost. Even though our main concern is the health and well being of your companion, we would like to address this question up front, and as thoroughly as we can. In the interest of preventing any misunderstandings, we wish to make clear our expectations of you as a client. By addressing this issue early on, we hope to make it easier for you to plan an propriate treatment program.

Constitutional Consultation (First Time Homeopathic Analysis/Physical Exam) - About an hour and a half spent with the practitioners. This time will be spent discussing your companion's main concerns - including present physical and emotional problems. Any records of previous treatment will be carefully examined and the patient's history will be discussed. Some time will be required to select a homeopathic remedy. By following the complex laws of homeopathic treatment, a prescription will be carefully selected and dispensed immediately, or within 1 week, depending on the case. (The first homeopathic remedy is included in the cost of the consultation.) Your companion will also receive a thorough exam by our veterinarian. Further diagnostics and procedures are extra, as are supplements.

Follow-ups - 15 minutes with the vet, 30 minutes with the homeopath. Follow-ups are an essential part of the homeopathic treatment and should be booked 4 to 6 weeks after the patient's constitutional consultation or (first appointment). As we go through the treatment we will be "uncovering the layers of the disease". The practitioner will reassess the problems and may change the remedy during the course of treatment. Some acute conditions respond immediately, others may take months or even years of continuous treatment. We will give you an assessment of prognosis and outlook for the treatment.
